TICKBANG CYBERCAFE & ANNA’S AMIGOS OF PLEASANTVILLE HOLD COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER FOR DOWN SYNDROME RESEARCH ON MAY 20, 2006 (PLEASANTVILLE DAY)
Anna's Amigos kicked off its 2006 fundraising/awareness efforts on May 20 (Pleasantville Day). tickBang cybercafe in conjunction with Anna’s Amigos held a "mini-fundraiser" for the Down Syndrome Research Treatment Foundation (“DSRTF”). tickBang, Pleasantville’s first and only internet gaming center, donated its Pleasantville-day proceeds to DSRTF. Anna's Amigos and tickBang raised $1,200 for DSRTF, the largest source of private funds dedicated to Down syndrome cognition research. DSRTF currently funds research projects at Stanford University’s Center for DS Research and Treatment and is committed to funding promising DS research across the country. DSRTF’s ultimate goals are to develop cognitive treatments that will further enable people with Down syndrome to be fully included in academic and social environments as well as provide them with greater opportunities to live independently as adults.
